A Heron and 35 Goldfinches flew over the council yard early this afternoon. Highlights from Long Nab include: a record count of 975 Wigeon (973 of them heading north), 173 Common Scoter, 4 Shelduck, 74 Teal, 2 Shoveler, 7 Pintail, a Tufted Duck, 2 Mallard, 2 Red-breasted Mergansers, a Knot, 14 Dunlin, 2 Eider, a Great Skua and a Little Gull all flying north, while 19 Eider, 7 Great Skuas and 3 Arctic Skuas flew south. 2 large skeins of Pink-footed Geese, approximately 200 birds, were seen over Stepney.
