Tuesday 26th October

A Snow Bunting was seen flying inland from Cromer Point sewage works this morning, and 5 Eider flew south off Marine Drive. A Lapland Bunting was with Skylarks in a large stubble field south of Scalby Lodge Pond, while another was at Long Nab in the field behind the observation hut along with 3 Twite, a Snow Bunting and a Pink-footed Goose. A second Snow Bunting flew north and a Mistle Thrush flew in off the sea. A female Eider and 88 Wigeon were at Scalby Mills, 2 White-fronted Geese flew over Crossgates, a Little Egret was at Thornton Dale sewage works, and 40 Goldfinches, 60+ Starlings and 2 Great Black-backed Gulls were at the Melrose Street council yard. A Pochard, 2 Goldeneye, 34 Wigeon, 17 Cormorants and a Sparrowhawk were seen at Wykeham East Lake. One Wigeon, one Teal, one Goldeneye, 7 Little Grebes and 146 Moorhens were at Seamer Road Mere, while 70 Siskins flew south during a one hour period this afternoon.
