Friday 25th October

 A good selection of wildfowl and waders on the move today. Highlights past Long Nab were a Dark-bellied Brent Goose, 130 Wigeon, 2 Pintail, 3 Goldeneye, Grey Plover, Knot, 53+ Dunlin, 2 Great Northern Divers, 31 Little Gulls, Mediterranean Gull, and a Manx Shearwater. A Brambling was at Crook Ness at dawn. 35 Pink-footed Geese over Crossgates. A Yellow-browed Warbler with the tit flock on the south side of Castle Hill, 30 Redwings arrived in off the sea late afternoon. At North Yorkshire Water Park; 10 Whooper Swans, 8 Mute Swans, 14 Teal, 2 Gadwall, 10 Siskin, plus an unseen (in low cloud) skein of Pinkfeet. A mixed flock of 30 Redwings/Fieldfare at Ox Pasture. 30+ Whooper Swans flew south at Muston. Five Woodcocks in Raincliffe Woods.
