Migration watch; 07.30 - 09.45hrs.
An Osprey was seen early morning over the fishing ponds at Wykeham South Lake but wasn't seen again during the day. Also in the area there were 2 Red Kite, 2 Goldeneye, 2 Little Ringed Plover, 25 Swallow and 20 Sand Martin.
The years first Reed Warbler was at Charm Park where a Merlin was also seen, the years first 2 male Yellow Wagtail were on Potter Brompton Carr (no general access) along with 2 Egyptian Geese, 2 Shelduck, 1 Little Ringed Plover, 1 White Wagtail and 15 Pied Wagtail, the drake Garganey was still present but had moved over the road to Johnson's Marsh where it was joined by a pair of Shoveler.
On the move (south unless stated) were 1 Red-throated Diver, 3 Fulmar + 3 north, 40 Gannet + 15 north, 1 Curlew, 2 Black-headed Gull, 126 Common Gull + 3 north, 3 Lesser Black-backed Gull + 2 north, 4 Great Black-backed Gull, 10 Auk sp + 3 north, 1 Sand Martin, 4 Meadow Pipit, 3 Starling and 2 Linnet.

Some belated news from yesterday, two Avocet were seen on Wykeham South Lake.
