Migration watch; 07.15 - 11.00hrs.
Two more species made it on to the year list, a Willow Warbler at Wykeham South Lake and a cracking drake Garganey on Scalby Lodge Pond.
On the move (south unless stated) were 1 Red-throated Diver, 1 Fulmar + 7 north, 1 Cormorant north, 1 Grey Heron north, 2 Shelduck, 1 Golden Plover north, 39 Common Gull + 1 north, 1 Lesser Black-backed Gull, 14 Auk sp + 15 north, 15 Sand Martin + 5 north, 5 Swallow + 1 north, 3 Meadow Pipit + 16 north, 6 Alba + 1 north, 10 Carrion Crow + 16 north, 16 Goldfinch and 183 Linnet + 26 north.
Grounded migrants between Long Nab and Castle Hil were 2 male Ring Ouzel (1 Long Nab, 1 Castle Hill), 8 Chiffchaff and 1 Goldcrest.
Elsewhere the drake Scaup was still at Peasholm Park, a Grey Plover was in Jackson's Bay, 2 Wigeon and 5 Swallow were on Potter Brompton Carr (no general access), 2 Egyptian Geese, 2 Goldeneye, 2 Little Ringed Plover and 6 Sand Martin were at Wykeham South Lake.
