A Hen Harrier was seen this morning 2 fields north of the road to the sewage works, and at Wykeham South Lake there was a Blue-headed Wagtail. 512 Meadow Pipits and 12 Swifts flew south through South Cliff, and a Whinchat and a Stonechat were by the golf course, while 180 House Martins and 15 Swifts were feeding between Oliver's Mount and the Esplanade. Highlights from Long Nab this morning include 554 Meadow Pipits, 247 House Martins, 136 Swallows, 78 Sand Martins, 58 Gannets, 51 Linnets, 31 Goldfinches and 2 Red-throated Divers all heading south, plus 29 Fulmars, 15 Sandwich Terns, 2 Whimbrel and 2 Curlew going north. A Peregrine flew in off the sea with a small calidris prey. A Great White Egret was roosting early this evening in pines on the western side of Wykeham South Lake, where a Common Sandpiper was also present. 9 Yellow Wagtails and 38 Pied Wagtails were feeding on the grass by the Wykeham South Lake parking area.
