The Cattle Egret was still present at Wykeham South Lake early this
morning but disappeared from view at 08.35 and was not seen again during the
day. The Great White Egret was also still present today and
seemed quite settled on the western side of the lake where it was visible for
at least most of the morning. The long staying Red-necked Grebe was also still present today and continued to
frequent the eastern side of the lake occasionally coming quite close to the
observation blind.
80+ Whooper Swans were seen
on Willerby Carr this morning, 90+ Golden Plover on an arable field southeast
of Ruston Carr Bridge, Johnson’s Marsh had 46 Teal and 20 Wigeon and on Harwood
Dale Lake there were 9 Goosanders and 8 Fieldfares flew over to the west.
