At Wykeham South Lake today
110+ Whooper Swans but they departed early in smaller groups, the Red-necked Grebe added another day to
its residency, and also 8 Egyptian Geese, 15 Pochard, 9 Goldeneye, 11 Great
Crested Grebes and 2 Little Grebes were also present.
Around Long Nab a Great Northern Diver flew south over the
stubble field and there was also 32 Golden Plovers, a Lapland Bunting and 8 Snow
Buntings. Along Taylor Way there were 6 Jack Snipes and 4 Common Snipes,
nearby in the field to the south of Seamer Tip Pool there were 26 Redshanks and
finally at Harwood Dale Lake there were 11 Goosanders.
