Wykeham South Lake this
morning had 3 Whooper Swans, 2 Goldeneye, a mixed flock of 50+ Redwings and Fieldfares
and 6 red headed Red-breasted Mergansers.
There was a Dunlin and 13
Ringed Plovers in Jackson’s Bay; down the coast at Scalby Mills the gull count
was 190 Black-headed Gulls, 450 Herring Gulls, 80 Greater Black-backed Gulls, 2
Common Gulls and a first calendar year Mediterranean Gull; Valley Road Duck
Pond had a ♂ Teal and a ♀ Tufted Duck and in Old Town 1450 Starlings came to
roost and put on a bit of murmuration activity as a Peregrine was also present.
