No reports of the Bittern today, but a
Water Rail was seen at Seamer Tip Pool. Highlights from Long Nab included 16 Golden Plover in the observatory field and another 35 flying south, 42+ Skylarks, and 10 Red-throated Divers feeding offshore. In Cornelian Bay there were 5
Grey Plover, a Shelduck, 2 Mallards, and a
Common Scoter, while a Great Crested Grebe was in the harbour. On Thornton Carrs there were 4
Green Sandpipers, a Snipe and 5 Common Buzzards.
