Friday 14th January

The usual birds were at Wykeham South Lake today, including 5 Pochard, 2 Water Rails and a Kingfisher. 22 Fulmars were on Castle Cliffs. 2 Little Egrets were seen at Folkton sewage works, whie on Cayton Carr there were 42 Pink-footed Geese, 22 Golden Plover, 550 Lapwings, 41 Pied Wagtails and 42 Skylarks. 65 Teal and 3 Little Grebes were along the Hertford, a Snipe was at Taylor Way, and in the Seamer Tip area there were 2 Little Egret, a Snipe, 120 Fieldfare, 3 Buzzards, the Cattle Egret, about 50 Linnets, 2 Short-eared Owls and a Water Rail. Yellowhammer, Tree Sparrows, Bullfinch, Reed Buntings, Skylarks, Meadow Pipit, Pied Wagtail, Redwings and Grey Partridges were on the track leading inland from The Hundales (north of Long Nab). A Grey Wagtail was seen on Salt Pans Road, Cloughton, while 24 Fulmar and 2 Rock Pipits were at Cloughton Wyke. 8 Siskins and a Lesser Redpoll were seen at Burton Riggs.
