A Kingfisher and a Grey Wagtail were seen on the beck at Scalby Mills this morning. At Wykeham South Lake there were 4 male and 9 female Goldeneye, 4 Pochard, 5 Gadwall, 26 Teal, 17 Yellowhammer and 2 Stonechats, while 75+ Golden Plover were with Lapwings on Cayton Carr. The sea watch at Long Nab was quiet, the main interest being 5 Fulmar on the cliffs north of the observatory and 2 Stonechats and 10 Fieldfare in the hedges nearby. 4 Water Rails were at Middle Deepdale, while 3 Water Rails, 11 Little Grebes, 54 Tufted Duck, 2 Gadwall and a Kingfisher were at Seamer Road Mere. A Water Rail was also at Burton Riggs and a Snipe at Taylor Way. A male Blackcap is still frequenting a garden in Burniston, and a female Sparrowhawk flew over Scalby Mills golf course.
