Sunday 16th January
62 Tufted Duck, 4 Gadwall, a Teal, a Wigeon, 11 Little Grebes and 2 Water Rails were at Seamer Road Mere this morning. A Willow Tit, 7 Pochard, 4 Shovelers and 2 Gadwall were at Burton Riggs; a Stonechat was on Seamer Tip; and at Seamer Mead there were 3 Little Egrets, 41 Teal and a Stonechat, while 9 Pink-footed Geese flew over northwards. 30 Yellowhammer and a Buzzard were seen from Middle Lane, Hutton Buscel and a Golden Plover was between there and Far Lane. 460 Wigeon, a Pochard, a Goldeneye, a redhead Goosander and 5 Red-throated Divers were at Scalby Mills. A Pale-bellied Brent Goose was in North Bay, a Common Scoter was in South Bay, and a Great Northern Diver was again in the harbour. A Greenshank, a Ringed Plover, 2 Grey Plover, a Bar-tailed Godwit and a Short-eared Owl were at Gristhorpe Bay in the afternoon, while 3 Stonechats and 300 Wigeon flew over.
