Thursday 13th January

A Cream-crowned Marsh Harrier was spotted early this morning on the Seamer side of the tip, and another later hunting over Seamer Mead. A Dipper was on the weir near the Youth Hostel on Coastal Road, and a Kingfisher and a Heron were at the Open Air Theatre. A Bar-tailed Godwit, a Greenshank and 5 Grey Plover were roosting below Yons Nab, where 100 Wigeon flew north, and 8 Stonechats were seen between there and Cayton Bay. A Marsh Tit was in the small wood to the east of Seamer Tip, a Little Owl was south of Snainton, the Great Northern Diver was again in the harbour, and at Harwood Dale Lake there were 6 Goosanders and 15 Mandarins. The Cattle Egret was again in the field south of Seamer Tip, and a Short-eared Owl was again seen at the tip.
