Migration watch; 06.50 – 12.20hrs.
On the move (south unless stated) were 5 Fulmar + 11 north, 1 Gannet + 5 north, 1 Cormorant + 2 north, 1 Shag north, 1 Canada Goose, 1 Common Scoter, 3 Oystercatcher north, 1 Snipe, 5 Black-headed Gull, 21 Common Gull + 22 north, 2 Lesser Black-backed Gull, 16 Great Black-backed Gull + 3 north, 3 Kittiwake + 1 north, 1 Auk sp north, 23 Meadow Pipit, 11 Alba, 1 Chaffinch, 3 Goldfinch and 11 Linnet.
Migrants in the Long Nab area included a litoralis Rock Pipit, 30 Meadow Pipit, 1 Redwing, 2 Chiffchaff and 12 Goldcrest. On Johnson’s Marsh there were 2 Shelduck, 2 Gadwall, 16 Curlew, 3 Oystercatcher, 3 Tufted Duck, 24 Wigeon and 4 Teal. The Bar-tailed Godwit was back in Jackson’s Bay, an Eider was in Cornelian Bay with a Chiffchaff in the Ravine there and 3 Chiffchaff and the first returning Swallow were seen at Ellerburn.
