A rather spring like morning, Potter Brompton Carr (no general access) produced
180 Lapwing including some displaying, 2 Golden Plover, 20 Dunlin, 4 Curlew, 1
Oystercatcher, 4 Snipe, 11 Lesser Black-backed Gull, 16 Shoveler, 5 Gadwall, 35
Wigeon, 25 Teal, 1 Pochard, 15 Fieldfare and the first Nuthatch for the site as well as a trickle of Meadow Pipit and
Skylark heading north.
What was presumably the same drake Long-tailed Duck seen last month in Cornelian Bay was located again there, the American Wigeon was still at Scalby Mills along with 370 Wigeon and 3 Teal while at least 1 Black-necked Grebe was still in the Harbour.
At Wykeham South Lake there were 4 White-fronted Geese, 2 Pink-footed Geese, 12 Great Crested Grebe and 19 Wigeon while 25 Whooper Swan were on Sherburn Ings.
