A couple of quiet days, the 1st produced the American Wigeon at Scalby Mills where a Great Crested Grebe was
also seen.
Migration watch; 07.55 – 10.00hrs.
The American Wigeon was also seen on the 2nd.
Elsewhere single Lapland and Snow Buntings were at Long Nab, 51 Wigeon, 13 Teal and 3 Tufted Duck were on Johnson’s Marsh, at Wykeham South Lake 670 Black-headed Gull, 750 Common Gull, 1 Shoveler and 4 Goldeneye and 126 Golden Plover, 4 Dunlin, 11 Snipe and an Oystercatcher were on Potter Brompton Carr (no general access).
On the move (north unless stated) were 2 Red-throated Diver south, 3 Fulmar + 5 south, 6 Gannet + 42 south, 3 Common Scoter south, 5 Lapwing south, 9 Black-headed Gull south, 2 Common Gull + 7 south, 36 Herring Gull + 88 south, 3 Great Black-backed Gull + 12 south, 2 Kittiwake + 4 south, 1 Guillemot + 1 south, 2 Razorbill south and 1 Skylark.
