Sunday 25th October

The Red-necked Grebe has again been at the harbour, at times just outside the harbour off lighthouse pier, and at other times in the inner harbour. 3 Purple Sandpipers were also roosting on East pier, and a Chiffchaff was on the south side of Castle Hill. A Merlin flew south at Ravenscar, 94 Teal were at Johnson's Marsh, and a Velvet Scoter was at Cloughton Wyke. A Water Rail was spotted at the Open Air Theatre and a Stonechat at Marvel's. South Cliff was generally quiet this morning with the highlight being 17 Rock Pipits heading south. 5 Barnacle Geese and 4 Pink-footed Geese were at Wykeham Lakes.
