Friday 2nd October

 A Merlin was seen at Long Nab early this morning, where the sea watch was generally quiet with highlights being 7 Shelduck passing by north, and a Pintail plus 2 Red-throated Divers heading south. 16 Wigeon, a female Goldeneye and 2 Pochard were at Wykeham South Lake, while at East Lake there were 59 Mallard and 3 Shoveler, plus 75 Pink-footed Geese flew over. 125 Pink-footed Geese were also seen hale a mile east of Pickering, flying north. 71 Wigeon, 27 Teal and 2 Pintail flew south past South Cliff, while 33 Teal and 3 Brent Geese flew north. A Yellow-browed Warbler remained on Castle Hill this afternoon, while passing by were 5 Brent Geese and 2 Manx Shearwaters heading north and 31 Teal and 62 Wigeon heading south.
