Friday 16th October

 A Richard's Pipit was in the stubble field at Long Nab and a ringtail Hen Harrier was hunting over the fields near Fields Farm. A Chiffchaff was at Crook Ness, and a Yellow-browed Warbler was seen in the cliff top scrub just north of there. A blythi type Lesser Whitethroat was at Holbeck, and a Mediterranean Gull an a Kittiwake were at Scalby Mills. 2 Marsh Tits Tits plus small numbers of Goldcrests and Blackbirds were on Castle Hill in the early afternoon, while later the area was quiet, with just 4 Goldcrest, a Redwing and 11 Blackbirds of note. 6 Purple Sandpipers and 52 Turnstones were roosting at the harbour, and 200+ Starlings were at Crook Ness. At Wykeham Lakes a pair of Common Scoter were seen on South Lake, while 5 Barnacle Geese were on East Lake.
