Tuesday 27th October

 12 Whooper Swans flew past Long Nab, then over Holbeck, South Cliff and Knipe Point this morning, and a Velvet Scoter was in Jackson's Bay. 4 Willow Tits, 6 Marsh Tits, 2 Nuthatches, 8 Jays and 5 Crossbills were seen/heard round the Dalby Haygate circuit. 3 very large skeins of Pink-footed Geese were seen flying over Barmoor then Hovingham Drive, then 50 minutes later another 43 were seen heading south over Peasholm. Highlights from South Cliff include 10 Tundra Bean Geese, 27 Whooper Swans, 2 House Martins, 304 Chaffinch, 235 Goldfinch and 36 Crossbills all heading south, plus a Short-eared Owl which flew north. Highlights from Ravenscar include: 158 Pink-footed Geese, 15 Coal Tits, 11 Blue Tits, 12 Fieldfare, 278 Chaffinch, 23 Brambling, 172 Lesser Redpoll and a Corn Bunting all heading south, plus another 104 Fieldfare going west.
