A Garden Warbler was at Oliver's Mount this morning. 48 Fieldfares, 4 Wheatears and 3 Common Gulls were on Star Carr; a Little Egret was on Seamer Mead; a Lesser Whitethroat was by the new scrape at Seamer Tip pool; and a Barnacle/Canada hybrid goose was at Burton Riggs. A Grasshopper Warbler was again singing on the cliff side just north of Crook Ness, and 3 Whimbrel flew north. 2 Whitethroats were in hedges on Foulridge Lane, Snainton, and 2 Whimbrel flew north over the Old Scalby Mills pub. At Wykeham Lakes there were briefly 3 first summer Little Gulls at East Lake which then departed to the north-east, while 2 Common Sandpipers were at South Lake and 25 Stock Doves were in the field near Ings Farm. A Brambling, 3 Siskins, a Reed Bunting, a Marsh Tit, a Jay and a Great Spotted Woodpecker were on the feeders at Long Causeway. A Pied Flycatcher was at the ponds by Hilla Green. A Blackcap, a Buzzard, a Chiffchaff and 2 pairs of Lapwings were along Middle Lane, while a Blackcap, a Buzzard, 2 Chiffchaffs, a Bullfinch, 2 Whitethroats, 2 Tree Sparrows and 2 Yellowhammers were along Great Moor Road. 2 Green Sandpipers were at Northstile pool.
