The Wood Warbler was singing throughout the day in Broxa Forest, where there were also 2 (possibly 3) Spotted Flycatchers and a Firecrest was found too, plus a Redstart was singing in Raincliffe Woods in the area of oaks above the T-junction with Mowthorpe Road. A Yellow Wagtail was at Johnson's Marsh, and 2 Turtle Doves were at the Mill Inn in the morning and 3 in the late afternoon (before flying off when a Sparrowhawk came through. A Mandarin and an Oystercatcher were seen at Harwood Dale Lake, and a Lesser Whitethroat was spotted nearby. 4 Buzzards were over Lebberston, 4 more were over Reisty Bank where a Tree Pipit was seen, and a Goshawk flew over Crossgates. At Seamer Tip Pool 3 Lesser Whitethroats were singing, and there were 6+ Reed Warblers (plus a Roe Deer and a Wall Brown butterfly). A Honey Buzzard was seen from the Wykeham Raptor Viewpoint, and 17 Mute Swans were at the Wykeham Water Park. The first Nightjar of spring was at Harwood Dale Forest. A Wood Sandpiper was sound recorded over Crossgates in the early hours.
