Saturday 8th May
A Greenshank was present at Johnson's Marsh today. A Wheatear was on Marine Drive, another was at South Cliff, a pair were on Cayton Carr, and 6 were at Castle Hill (2 near the skate park and 4 on the 'tops' in the English Heritage area). Grasshopper Warblers were again at South Cliff and at Long Nab, with a Lesser Whitethroat also at South Cliff and 3 Fieldfare at Long Nab before flying off north. 3 Whimbrel also flew past. The 2 Great Northern Divers remain in South Bay, 5 Fieldfare were at Harwood Dale Lake, and 3 Common Sandpipers were at Wykeham Lakes. 2 Purple Sandpipers were roosting on East Pier. A Hobby and a Cuckoo flew north over Harwood Dale Forest, 2 Little Egrets were at Brompton Ponds, and at Wrench Green/Northstile there were 35+ Fieldfare and 7 House Martins.
