Thursday 13th May
The 2 Great Northern Divers were yet again in South Bay, and a newly-arrived Ring Ouzel was on South Cliff. 3 Litte Egrets were at Johnson's Marsh. The Pied Flycatcher was still showing well at Hilla Green, a Spotted Flycatcher was along the river bank towards Woodhouse, while 5 Garden Warblers were seen/heard between Wrench Green and Hilla Green. A Barn Owl flew past the spa complex before escaping mobbing Kittiwakes by going into cover by the Grand Cliff lift. 4 Nuthatches were present and 3 Redstarts were singing in an area of oaks in Raincliffe Woods above the T-junction with Mowthorpe Road. A Whinchat, 3 Redstarts and a Green Woodpecker were at Low North Camp, and a Cuckoo was heard in the valley running north-west from there.
