Monday 3rd May

A Ring Ouzel flew in off the sea at South Cliff, continuing north-west, and a third calendar year Glaucous Gull flew north, seen again passing Long Nab. A Kestrel was seen at the Marine Drive toll gate and an Osprey flew very high north along South Cliff then over Long Nab and Cloughton Wyke. A Reed Warbler was at Taylor Way and a Sedge Warbler was at the Seamer Tip motorcycle track. A Common Sandpiper was seen at Seamer Road Mere, and 2 Whimbrel were calling while flying inland at Scalby Lodge. 2 Teal, 2 Little Egrets and a Common Sandpiper were at Johnson's Marsh, 2 Yellow Wagtails were at Salby Lodge, and a Bar-tailed Godwit was again in Jackson's Bay. The Pied Flycatcher was at Hilla Green again, while at Harwood Dale Lake there were 35 Swallows and 70 Sand Martins. Also passing Long Nab were 7 Whimbrel, a Common Sandpiper, a male Cuckoo, a female Ring Ouzel, 159 Carrion Crows and a Corn Bunting. A flock of Knot was sound recorded over Crossgates last night.
