Thursday 6th May
The Grasshopper Warbler was still on South Cliff this morning and the 2 Great Northern Divers remain in South Bay. A Marsh Harrier flew over Crossgates, and at Wykeham East Lake 2 Swifts and about 30 House Martins were forced down by a heavy shower. A Grey-headed Wagtail was on Cayton Carrs along with 6 Yellow Wagtails, 2 or 3 White Wagtails and about 6 Wheatears. 2 Little Ringed Plovers were at Wykeham South Lake, and 2 Turtle Doves were in Burniston. At Long Nab there was an influx of 39+ Whitethroats, while the Grasshopper Warbler was still just north of Crook Ness. A Redwing flew over Harwood Dale Forest yesterday evening and a Green Woodpecker was calling early this morning.
