Friday 25th April 2014

There was no sign of the Tawny Pipit on South Cliff which came as no surprise given the thick fog and heavy rain which made birding almost impossible, very few migrants were seen along the coast as a result, between Long Nab and South Cliff were 3 Wheatear, the first Whinchat (Castle Hill), 1 Lesser Whitethroat, 1 Whitethroat, 2 Blackcap, 10 Chiffchaff, 2 Willow Warbler and 1 Goldcrest.
A Spotted Redshank on Potter Bromton Carr (no general access) was the first of the year, also present there were 4 Gadwall, 10 Teal and a Wigeon and 21 Whimbrel, a Cuckoo and 18 Wheatear were on Flixton Carr.
