Monday 17th August

 A juvenile Long-tailed Skua flew south past Long Nab and South Cliff this morning, and another flew north past Long Nab a bit later. An Icterine Warbler was spotted in sycamores at the southern end of Holbeck car park where it was seen occasionally throughout the day, with Garden and Willow Warblers also seen in the area. The Greenshank was again at Johnson's Marsh, plus 2 Ringed Plovers this afternoon, while at Wykeham South Lake there were 2 Common Sandpipers, 24 Coot and a Mediterranean Gull. 2 Pied Flycatchers were seen near Cliff Top House, Long Nab, while highlights passing Long Nab included 136 Teal, a Wigeon, 66 Manx Shearwaters, a Sooty Shearwater, a Greenshank, 111 Common Terns, 4 Arctic Terns, and 2360 Kittiwakes flying north plus 1100+ feeding offshore. A cream-crowned Marsh Harrier was near Givendale this afternoon, and a Turtle Dove was near Malton Cote. 86 Oystercatchers, 20+ Sandwich Terns and a Willow Warbler were near Cromer Point, and passing South Cliff were 5 Great Skuas, and a Greenshank that flew in off the sea and continued south. 3 Swifts flew south-west over Woodall Avenue this evening.
