A Hen Harrier and a Red Kite were seen over fields at Long Nab, joined mid-morning by a Marsh Harrier, the latter being seen again on two occasions behind Crook Ness and over Cliff Top House. A Sooty Shearwater flew north past Long Nab and 2 Wheatears were present on the cliff in front of the observatory. In the afternoon a flock of 25 Whimbrel flew south at Long Nab, and 54 Sandwich Terns were in Burniston Bay. At Ravenscar a Greenshank, 86 Goldfinches and 15 Meadow Pipits flew south, while a Whimbrel flew north. 9 Willow Warblers and 7 Goldcrests were present, plus a Willow Tit on the cliff east of the tea rooms. 14 Teal were on Johnson's Marsh.
