3 Kestrels, 2 Buzzards and 2 Sparrowhawks were seen at Cromer Point this morning. Highlights past Long Nab included: a Sooty Shearwater, 2 Arctic Skuas and 3 Mediterranean Gulls north, plus 1 Arctic Skua, 617 Oystercatchers, a Bar-tailed Godwit, 2 Whimbrel, 33 Knot and a Great Skua south. 3 Common Sandpipers were at Burton Riggs this afternoon, and 2 more were at Seamer Tip pool. The Hen Harrier was seen again just north of Cliff Top House, where 3 Turtle Doves were present by the dung heap. 17 Mediterranean Gulls (3 of them juveniles) were on Black Rocks, along with 5 Common Sandpipers, while small numbers of Oystercatchers and Whimbrel continued to head south. An Osprey was spotted at Wykeham South Lake in the late afternoon, 13 Common Sandpipers there early morning. Highlights from the afternoon/evening sea watch at Long Nab include: a Sooty Shearwater, 74 Manx Shearwaters, 228 Oystercatchers south (making a daily total of 845 south and 11 north), 3 Mediterranean Gulls, 85 Common Terns and 57 Arctic Terns.
