A Green Sandpiper and two Shelduck were on Johnson's Marsh early this morning and four Purple Sandpipers were at Scalby Mills. Approximately 600 Kittiwakes were on Castle Headland with further counts of 60 on The Grand Hotel and 15 on Spa Bridge. Three Eider (2M, 1F) flew north off Marine Drive. A Red-legged Partridge was an unusual visitor to a Briardene Avenue garden (1st record in eight years of residence) and a Green Sandpiper was on the River Hertford near Flixton. A drake Mandarin Duck was again on Thornton Dale duck pond and 13 Shoveler and a Little Egret were at Potter Brompton Carr. 15 Goldeneye and a late influx (1650hrs) of six Barn Swallows and 60 Sand Martins were at the Wykeham Lakes complex at North Yorkshire Water Park.
