Tuesday 28th March

Bird of the day was a Black Redstart frequenting the fence posts just east of Seamer tip pool at 10am. Two Grey Partridge were at the same location. No Alpine Swift reports today in the constant rain. The ringed Med Gull (PNN5) was again at Burton Riggs. A Mandarin was at Thornton-le-Dale pond. A party of 38 Shelducks and a drake Eider flew north past Long Nab bird Observatory. The high tide wader roost at Gristhorpe Bay held 116 Curlews, 34 Redshank, 21 Oystercatchers, 13 Purple Sandpipers, and 2 Turnstone. Two pairs of Stonechats on the cliffs there.
