Sunday 3rd November

 A Little Auk was seen off the harbour mouth this morning before flying south, also a Great Northern Diver there, and a Red-throated Diver in the harbour. 20 Whooper Swans flew east at Cayton Carr. Two Great White Egrets at North Street, Flixton. 100+ Siskins, 45 Redwings, Fieldfare, 2 Willow and 4 Marsh Tits at Northstile, Wrench Green. 50 Pink-footed Geese south over Cayton. Five Pochard at Seamer Road Mere. A Woodcock flew in off the sea at Cayton Bay. The first-winter Red-necked Grebe was still on Wykeham East Lake this afternoon, also at the lakes complex were 4 Great Crested Grebes, 3 Goldeneye, 5 Dunlin, Curlew, 90 Lapwings, 3 Lbb Gulls, and 1100 Starlings. A Marsh Harrier at the west side of the lakes from Long Causeway Road. 115 Wigeon at Scalby Mills. 40 Siskins at Thornton le Dale, 90 ay Low Dalby/Ellerburn, also 54 Crossbills and a Willow Tit. Highlights past Long Nab this morning were 52 Shelduck, 635 Wigeon, 512 Common Scoter, 3 Velvet Scoters, 51 Eider, 9 Goldeneye, Black-throated Diver, and 3 Great Northern Divers. 5 Marsh Harriers, 3 Great White Egrets, 180 Teal, adult male Merlin, and 80 Fieldfare flew west.
