Saturday 2nd November

 A first-winter Red-necked Grebe was at Wykeham East Lake late afternoon, also a Dunlin, 19 Gbb Gulls, 1 Lbb Gull and a pre-roost gathering of 1400+ Jackdaws at East Lake. Ten Goldeneye and a Snipe at the Water Sports Lake. Two Lapland Buntings were in the stubble field by the car park at Long Nab, a Snow Bunting, and 2 Twite flew south. Past at sea were 12 species of duck including a Scaup, Pintail, 3 Velvet Scoter, 3 Red-breasted Mergansers, 2 Goosanders, 13 Goldeneye, also 4 Great Northern Divers, 2 Arctic Terns, 6 Whooper Swans, Manx Shearwater, and a Puffin feeding offshore. 125 Pink-footed Geese flew north over Cloughton, four Siskins in stubble east of the village. A Tawny Owl calling this evening between Tesco and Valley Road. 55 Pink-footed Geese flew NW over Stepney Road, and 60 NW over Crossgates. Eight Velvet Scoter flew south past Marine Drive. Eight Redwing west over Falsgrave Park, 2 Nuthatch, and 6 Goldcrests there. Gristhorpe bay at high tide: 152 curlew, 72 Redshank, 71 Oystercatchers, 5 Purple Sandpipers, 8 Turnstone, 1 Bar-tailed Godwit, Little Egret, and 12 Grey Herons.
