Saturday 7th December

Three Great White Egrets were feeding at the River Derwent south of Wykeham Lakes. The drake Scaup was still at Burton Riggs. Scalby Mills had 118 Wigeon and a Kingfisher. A Kingfisher was also feeding from the rocks at Long Nab where a pair of Stonechats were near the observatory. Two Waxwings made a brief early visit to berries at Willymath Close, Burniston but had not returned by midday. Two Great Crested Grebes were in Cornelian Bay. Perhaps more thrushes arriving from the east; two Redwings at Crook Ness and Hood Lane at Cloughton held 12 Redwings and 10 Blackbirds.
