Saturday 6thJuly

A Minke Whale was spotted travelling north about 2 miles out from Long Nab this morning. A Glaucous Gull flew past southwards, and between the observation hut and Crook Ness there was a Little Egret feeding on the shore. During the morning a total of 90 Common Scoter, a Whimbrel, 37 Curlews and a Bar-tailed Godwit flew north. A Sedge Warbler was singing in Thornton Dale this afternoon, and 6 Black-tailed Godwits flew over Peasholm.
