Friday 16th September

 Strong NNW winds sparked off further seabird movements today with an eclectic mix of species passing coastal watch points. Four Long-tailed Skuas had passed south off Marine Drive by 0833 hrs and five had passed south at Long Nab Obs by 0900hrs. A Razorbill and two Guillemots were in the harbour. A total of 12 Long-tailed Skuas (11S and 1N) passed Marine Drive this morning along with 14 Arctic Skuas south ( +7N). 14 Sooty Shearwaters and two Pintail flew north. Highlights past Long Nab between 0625hrs and 1525hrs included 11 Sooty Shearwaters, one Pale-bellied Brent Goose, a Roseate Tern and a Yellow-legged Gull north and 11 Long-tailed Skuas, 16 Arctic Skuas, two Great Skuas and a Caspian Gull south. A minimum of 13 Long-tailed Skuas passed south along the coast through the recording area today. 21, Great Black-backed Gulls, two Lesser Black-backed Gulls, 38 Lapwing, three Teal, 24 Tufted Duck and three Great crested Grebes were at Wykeham East Lake.
