Monday 19th September

 A first winter Mediterranean Gull, female Pintail, five Common Snipe, 13 Teal one Dunlin and one Yellow Wagtail were at Wykeham East Lake this morning, a Shoveler was at Seamer Tip Pool and a Velvet Scoter flew north out of South Bay. Two Grey Partridge, two Common Buzzard and a Willow Tit were at North Moor, Wykeham and 12+ Sandwich Terns were at Scalby Mills. A brief sea watch at Hundale Point accounted for one Velvet Scoter, one Great Northern Diver and seven Pale-bellied Brent Geese north and six Sanderling South. Highlights past Long Nab Obs this morning included 21 Pale-bellied Brent Geese, one Velvet Scoter, one Red-breasted Merganser, 77 Red-throated Diver, five Sooty Shearwaters, one Grey Plover, 14 Purple Sandpipers, 52 Little Gulls and one Long-tailed Skua. A Northern Wheatear was by the Obs, a Lesser Whitethroat by Cliff Top House and the first Brambling of the autumn was on the south side of Castle Hill.
