Monday 16th January

 An  adult Mediterranean Gull flew south at Long Nab during an otherwise quiet sea watch in poor conditions. A Dipper was again present in Peasholm Glen and a Kingfisher and Redshank were at the Open Air Theatre. 23 Greenfinches graced a Crossgates garden and a Song Thrush was in song at Stepney. 11 Golden Plover, 150 Redwing, 50 Fieldfare, Peregrine Falcon and a Barn Owl were at Cayton Carrs where 40 Siskin flew west. Three drake Goosander, three Little Grebe and 18+ Mandarin Duck were at Hackness Lake. A Great Northern Diver was seen briefly at Wykeham Water Park Water Sports Lake along with nine Goldeneye, one Barn Owl, one Kestrel and two Redpoll. 13 Gadwall and one Bullfinch were seen at Seamer Tip Pool whilst at the nearby Seamer Tip area there were three Short-eared Owls, one Common Snipe and a Water Rail in the dike at the north east point of the tip and approximately 200 Lapwing, 12 Reed Bunting and a female Teal on New Dike.
