Monday 30th January

 Two Eider flew past Long Nab this morning and 12 Common Snipe were at the scrape area. Skylarks were singing north of West Ayton and Crook Ness this morning and Sparrowhawks were noted at Cayton, Long Causeway Road, Wykeham and in a Burniston garden. Six Goldeneye (4m, 2f) were the highlights at Seamer Road Mere and an Iceland Gull flew north over Crossgates at 1040hrs. 10 Grey Heron were at Johnson's Marsh at high tide and approximately 1,000 Lapwings were in fields north of Folkton. Two drake Pochard were at Seamer Tip Pool, 13 Ringed Plover at Scalby Mills and three Marsh Tit and a Water Rail were at Long Causeway Road, Wykeham. To the west side of Forge Valley today there were four Marsh Tit, three Great spotted Woodpecker, two Nuthatch, six Bullfinch, 14 Fieldfare, three Redwing, two Mistle Thrush and a Jay.  A Great spotted Woodpecker was drumming in Falsgrave Park and four Goldeneye were at North Yorkshire Water Park Water Sports Lake. At Troutsdale early afternoon, there were three Northern Goshawk (m, f and 2nd calendar year), five Common Buzzard, 350 Wood Pigeon, 30 Meadow Pipit and a Jay.  30 Common Crossbill, four Siskin and a Great spotted Woodpecker were at Harwood Dale.
