The Bittern reappeared briefly at Seamer Road Mere this morning at 0824hrs, flying in onto the island with the white and blue rowing boat near to the bridge nut was not seen subsequently. Also present were two Goosander, six Goldeneye, three Little Grebe, the resident Whooper Swan and a singing Song Thrush. Seven Mediterranean Gulls were also seen at Seamer Road Mere, comprising of one adult, two third calendar year birds and four second calendar year birds. 11+ Common Crossbill were seen in Wykeham Forest, a Red Kite was over Wrench Green where two Redpolls visited a private garden. At Wykeham Water Park today there were nine Goldeneye, six Gadwall, 23 Tufted Duck, six Great crested Grebes and four Little Grebes. The was no sign of the Great Northern Diver there today.
