Friday 6th January

 The Bittern showed relatively well throughout the day at Seamer Road Mere, mainly frequenting the reed bed area at the southern end of the old jet ski lake. Five drake and one female Goldeneye were on the Mere. A Great crested Grebe was again in South Bay and the Dipper again showed well in Peasholm Glen. 10 Common Crossbills were at Wykeham Raptor Viewpoint. A Blackcap was again in a Crossgates garden and at the Black Dyke end of Seamer Tip, there were five Woodcock, eight Grey Partridge, 31 Stock Dove and three Chiffchaff. 120 Redwing were at Cliff Top House, Long Nab and nine Mandarin Duck were at Hackness Lake. 80 Siskin were at Hilla Green and a Goshawk, one Woodcock, eight Lesser Redpoll and 33 Common Crossbill were in Langdale Forest. At least 17 Bottle nosed Dolphins passed Long Nab this morning.
