Monday 8th May

 The Wood Sandpiper and drake Garganey were still at Potter Brompton Carr. Also there 2 Great White Egrets, 4 Little Egrets, a drake Wigeon, drake Pintail, Whimbrel, Greenshank, 17 Ringed Plover, 2 Dunlin, 2 Common Sandpipers, and 300+ Swifts. A Greenshank flew over North Yorkshire Water Park, also 2 Common Sandpipers there. Three Eiders at Scalby Mills. In the Warsman Head/Langdale Rigg area of Langdale Forest were 2 male Cuckoos, 2 Tree Pipits, 19 Crossbills, and 8 Siskin. Two Whinchats at Fylingdales Moor, also 2 Wheatears, 2 male Cuckoos, single Golden Plover and Snipe. A Grasshopper Warbler was in song just south of Long Nab Bird Observatory, moving south included 23 Lbb Gulls (4 north), 165 Swallows, a White Wagtail, and 2 Corn Buntings. A Lesser Whitethroat at Scalby Lodge, and Bar-tailed Godwit still in Jackson's Bay.
