Tuesday 30th May

 The SQUACCO HERON was present all day at Potter Brompton Carr, but often out of sight in the distant reeds. Was still present at 7pm. Please park carefully and do not obstruct gateways. View only from Haybridge.

Also at Potter Brompton Carr today; drake Garganey, 13 Little Egrets, Redshank, Wood Sandpiper, Greenshank, plus a Hobby over the adjacent golf course. Twelve Arctic Terns flew east through North Yorkshire Water Park at 16.50 hrs. A Wheatear at Long Nab, the morning seawatch produced an Arctic Skua south, also past were 2 Wigeon, 9 Common Scoter, 810 Gannets, 2 Manx Shearwaters, a Red-throated Diver and 17 Puffins.
