The first Sedge Warbler of the year was reported today from Burton Riggs, nearby at Seamer Tip Pool the variety of species included 2 Pink-footed Geese, 2 Barnacle Geese, 2 Shelduck, 2 Wigeon, 2 Gadwall and 4 Oystercatchers and on Star Carr we had a Green Sandpiper, 2 Shelduck and a Wigeon.

At Long Nab this afternoon in the field to the north of the Obs there were 11 Shore Larks, further south in Jackson’s Bay we had 2 Eider, in the Scalby Beck area about 30 Sand Martins and a Red Kite drifted over Scalby Village in the early afternoon.

Johnson’s Marsh today was still clinging on to a single ♂ Garganey plus 2 Snipe, 2 Redshank, 12 Teal and 3 Wigeon and at Wykeham South Lake a Willow Warbler, a Blackcap, 2 Goldeneye and 2 Grey Wagtails.

Last but not least the Great Grey Shrike remained on Stony Marl Moor for another day.
