Waxwings are on their
way back home and today 25+ just made it into our area as they were seen on
Eastgate in Pickering from 16.25 onwards.
At
Long Nab today a ♂ Eider went south, a Common Scoter and 2 Red-throated Divers
went north and there were 15 Bramblings, 4 Siskins and 2 White Wagtails in the
area. Moving south along the coast we had a Wheatear at Cromer Point, a
Bar-tailed Godwit and 3 Sand Martins in Jackson’s Bay and slightly inland at
Johnson’s Marsh the 2♂ Garganey
remained for another day.
In
and around the Harbour the Great
Northern Diver was still a feature and 39 Purple Sandpipers were still
using the roost.
Elsewhere
there was a Green Sandpiper in New Dyke at Seamer Tip and at Wykeham South Lake
we had 3 Goldeneye, 2 Shoveler, 6 Great Crested Grebes, 2 Little Grebes, 4
Fieldfares and a Corn Bunting.
