Waxwing still on Eastgate in Pickering
this morning but they were very mobile and apparently flew off at 12.30.

Shore Larks were in the 4th
field north of the Obs at Long Nab

Whooper Swans went north over Ayton Castle and 75+ Pink-footed Geese went north
over Knipe Point Drive and then over town at 08.15.
The
Brent Goose was still at Burton Riggs where there was also a Blackcap and at
Wykeham South Lake we had 4 Egyptian Geese, 3 Goldeneye, 8 Tufted Duck and 10
Sand Martins.
Potter
Brompton Carr produced 2 adult Mediterranean Gulls going north and calling
repeatedly, which was only the second record for the site. Also 22 Fieldfares
arrived from the east but then turned south, the ♂ Garganey was still present and other waterfowl included 14 Wigeon,
16 Teal and a pair of Shoveler, plus 2 Common Snipe.
The
Bar-tailed Godwit was still in Jackson’s Bay, the 2♂ Garganey were still on Johnson’s Marsh, Scalby Beck had 2 Sand Martins, a Dipper and a Blackcap and there was a 2cy
Mediterranean Gull at Holbeck this evening.
Finally
the first Willow Warbler of the year was recorded today in Valley Road near to
the Co-Op.
