Saturday 14th March

2 Oystercatchers, a pair of Shelduck, 15 Wigeon and a singing Yellowhammer were at Johnson's Marsh this morning. A Dunlin was seen flying south-east over Seamer Tip pool and a Barn Owl was at the motor cycle track near there, while 2 Oystercatchers, a Great Crested Grebe and 6 Tufted Ducks were at Burton Riggs. A Scandinavian Rock Pipit and 2 male Stonechats were by the Long Nab observation hut, where there was some duck movement, including 2 Shelduck, 37 Wigeon, 4 Eiders and 4 Goosanders. A Chiffchaff was singing in Wrench Green this afternoon, and the Hooded Crow was again at Flotmanby. 9 Gadwall and 6 Tufted Duck were at Seamer Tip pools, and 6 Goldeneye were at Wykeham South Lake. 32 Purple Sandpipers and 2 Rock Pipits were roosting on East Pier this evening, and a Guillemot was in the outer harbour.
