A Chiffchaff was singing at Burton Riggs this morning, and a Hawfinch flew south-east over Troutsdale. 5 Twite were spotted near the Crook Ness car park before flying south-west into a cover crop, and good numbers of passerines were on the move past Long Nab. At Seamer Road Mere there were 3 Little Grebes, a Pink-footed Goose, 13 Tufted Duck, a female Goosander, 2 pairs of Goldeneye, a Coot, a singing Chiffchaff, and a Red Kite flew over, heading south and along Oliver's Mount. 4 Goshawks, 7 Buzzards, a Sparrowhawk and a Kestrel were seen over Troutsdale, and a Goshawk, a Kestrel, a Buzzard, a Snipe and 2 pairs of Stonechats were seen at Jugger Howe. A flock of 150 Yellowhammers were feeding on a newly sown field at Flotmanby Carr.
